Let’s check the Story:

Yashoda (Samantha Prabhu) is a poor girl who lives in a slam area and agrees to become a surrogate mother for her financial problems. When she got pregnancy, she is taken to Eva, a surrogacy women care center owned by Madhu (Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar).

Things start well for Yashoda, meeting other pregnant women and knowing their stories with soft way, but one small incident like pregnant women missing issue creates a doubt in her mind.

She then takes it upon herself to find out the truth behind the surrogacy mafia. How she unravels it is the main story plot.

LET’S CHECK THE SCREENPLAY:

The film YASHODA starts on an interesting note until Samantha reaches the ERA HEALTH CARE CENTRE (surrogacy center). From there, the film falls little flat as scenes related to ragging between pregnant women and details of the center drag for no reason in the first of the film.

A more linear screenplay and crisp narrative would have made matters little better. The film could have been more emotionally strong as the actual cause of Varalakshmi turning into a certain manner is not showcased well.

Little more depth and pain in her role would have made the purpose of the villain more intense, but those Seens may dominate main character Yashoda. In that way, the Director-due may edited some of VARA portions from main script.

The bonding between key characters is may be looking weak. But we may think that, those precautions may take care by captain of the Movie.

The second half is where the actual action begins as the twists executed are very good. The action part and suspense elements have been unravelled quite well in the second half.

One of the biggest minus points of the film YASHODA are the logical issues. Directors may take cinematic liberty to run a lousy screenplay. The film is set in a surrogacy center which is shown as hi-tech and filled with CC camera surveillance.

But YASHODA escapes them easily. Such scenes are many and look a bit over the top. These few non-logical seens may not disturb the viewers point of view and the main objective is suspense drive of the film.

YASHODA films screenplay writing beauty is regular film buff may not expect, what is next seen. Every seen is marks with some engaging treatment and emotion. HATS OFF TO Director-duo HARI Shankar & HARISH Narayana.

LET’S CHECK ACTORS & TECHNICAL PERFORMENCE:

The basic backdrop is surrogacy is new for Telugu cinema and has been set up nicely in the narrative with unknown plot included to this.

This gives Yashoda movie a completely new edge. The director duo set up the whole surrogacy concept well and created an intriguing factor right from the beginning.

Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar is getting better with each film and gets a meaty part once again. She as the head of the surrogacy center is amazing. Her flashback in the second half with Rao Ramesh is very selfish and neatly designed.

Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan is also neat in his role. His role is negative and plaid as main male character of the film. This Scientist cum Doctor Gowtham character plays well by Unni.

Kalpika Ganesh is good in her role along with Murali Sharma, Satru and Sampath who play cops and investigative officers.

Last but not the least, Samantha gives her life and soul to the YASHODA film and is stunning as Yashoda. Be it the way she managed the pregnancy setup or did the action part, Samantha is in top form.

Yashoda is completely based on her character and Sam holds fort superbly. Not to miss her action movies and endearing emotion when she comes to know the actual surrogacy scam give the film a good depth.

18F MovieS Team Opinion:

YASHODA is Sama’s ONE-WOMAN SHOW. Right from the starting seen, she carries the film on her shoulders and gives a solid performance. If you ignore some slow and clue less seens in first off, every film grower likes the YASHODA MOVIE.

Yashoda has an interesting backdrop and makes for a decent watch with family this weekend in cinema theatres. We everyone in 18F Movies team likes and appreciate the Sam and Hari-Harish.

18F MovieS Rating: 3.5/5
